2008 SCMA convention

Socal is finally getting a large-scale martial arts and MMA event. This inaugural tradeshow is scheduled to feature a BJJ and submission grappling championship, MMA starts from the WEC, UFC, and Elite XC, vendors, activities, give-aways and more.
I recently spoke with a member of the Skizm Entertainment Group, Jimmy Syamphone, about the event and he was kind enough to share all the details with me and really gave the upcoming show some good hype.
I can tell you that I will be personally attending and covering the event on my website and am really excited to see what happens.

Rafael Cordeiro opens a Chute Boxe academy in Huntington Beach. Positioned next door to Cleber Luciano's BJJ school, these two MMA powerhoused intend on creating one heck of an MMA team.

Rafael has a personal fight record of 4-2, but more notably, he is known for training superstars such as Anderson Silva, Wanderlei Silva, and Shogun Rua.

Muay Thai training at his school is tough, make no bones about it. I have personally been there for the last few weeks, and I have also been nursing aching muscles for the last few weeks. I can tell you though, that his Muay Thai instruction is definately top-notch. You can read a full interview with Rafeal Corderio here: http://www.socalmartialarts.com/rafael-cordeiro-interview.html

He and Cleber have put together a special deal for newcomers. Although, it is definately a marketing strategy aimed at getting new students, it is still a great deal. Right now, they are offering unlimited training at BOTH gyms for only $200 a month. Not bad. Not bad at all.

His gym is in the Southwest corner of Springdale and Warner in HB. Stop by and check it out.
